Constructive Design Research and my M12 project introduced me to Research through Design. In a design-resarch case, three fellow students and I organised co-design sessions to investgate perceived risk, control, responsibility and ownership. Through this case, I developed a basic understanding of the types of design research, field, lab and showroom and to work with qualitative and quantitative data. As designers, we should combine these approaches and types of data to benefit from the strength instead of limiting ourselves to one. Furthermore, this course provided me with the basics of documenting design research and presenting data to communicate your findings.
